Employee Spotlight – Stephen McNeil

Welcoming Stephen McNeil to Team Blew.

Stephen McNeil brings great technical and strategic insight to his role as President of Assessment Services at Blew. Under his leadership, the firm continues to expand its nationwide presence as a top five commercial real estate due diligence provider across the United States. His emphasis on comprehensive solutions ensures that our clients benefit from an integrated approach to due diligence. One that spans environmental compliance, property condition assessments, and risk mitigation strategies, all orchestrated to optimize outcomes in commercial real estate transactions.

Stephen directs all facets of environmental site assessments, property conditions assessments, and construction loan monitoring, upholding full compliance with ASTM standards and governmental regulations. Throughout his career, he has emphasized robust data and analytics to streamline due diligence processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance quality control. In a previous role at LandAmerica, he oversaw projects in 33 countries on three continents. Now, Stephen leverages his global perspectives to guide Blew’s clients nationally.

Before joining Blew, he led GRS Group to a successful acquisition by NV5, a publicly traded company (NVEE). At GRS Group, Stephen cemented the firm as a top 10 national real estate due diligence provider specializing in environmental, property condition, energy, and survey services. As President and co-founder, he assumed full P&L responsibility, shaping the firm’s day-to-day operations and growth initiatives.

Throughout his time at Blew, Stephen has refined his M&A and business incubator expertise, capitalizing on new opportunities and strategic partnerships. Specifically, Stephen led Blew’s acquisition process of Fulcrum Resources Environmental (now “Fulcrum, a Blew Company”). Fulcrum is a southern California-based firm specializing in Phase II environmental site assessments. This acquisition allows Blew to service all phases of the environmental due diligence process in-house.

With an MBA in Global Operations Management and a Bachelor’s in Business Management, Stephen relies on a solid academic foundation to guide his operational strategy, resource allocation, and cross-functional leadership. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Redlands School of Business and the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton.

As the newly appointed President of Assessment Services, Stephen aims to refocus our assessment teams on client-specific needs while delivering best-in-class service offerings.
